Bunkering in Barcelona
The ordinance the port announced in May 2024 brings together emission rules for anchorage, manoeuvres and berth. Black smoke is monitored on the Ringelmann scale and reported to the Capitanía Marítima. That is why the MGO calculation is made before the ship enters port.
On LNG, the port delivered 236,946 m³ in 2025. Of 547 operations, 447 were by truck and 100 by barge, and about 30% of cruise calls were by LNG-fuelled ships. The port plans a first methanol bunkering pilot in 2026.
