Bunkering in Constanța
Constanța handled 51.55 million tonnes of cargo to the end of September 2026, including 15.8 million of grain. A Baird Maritime report of October 2026 says London's insurance market widened its Black Sea high-risk zone in September, exempting only the territorial waters of Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania and Türkiye.
The same report says at least eight cargo ships were hit off Romania and Bulgaria in the previous three weeks. The ships were anchored near or heading to the Sulina Canal, and ships calling at Constanța are reported not to be targeted. Cover is available but costly, and a few insurers are holding back.
